Xiaomi Mi 11 Teardown | Tech-Knowledge

Finally, the technology leader Xiaomi announced the Global release of the long-awaited Mi 11. This was officially released Globally on 9th February 2021. This is the latest flagship in the Mi smartphone lineup which includes the Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 888 chipset, featured with a triple rear camera, cinematic audio, and 50W wireless charging.


The basic features are the same as the China model which was announced on 2nd December 2020. Find the details of the features in the link below.


In this Article, I'll cover the specific hardware which builds the Mi11 as a premium model.


Xiaomi Mi 11 Teardown

Below are the details of each part of the hardware.


Dual SIM

The Xiaomi Mi11 featured a dual Nano-SIM slot. Some countries have few restrictions with the service provider for the e-SIM. But with a Nano-SIM, any manufacturer SIM card can be used. This is of course a plus point from Mi11.

Wireless Charging

Wireless Charging become most unique feature in the flagship now a days. The Xiaomi Mi11 featured a 50 Watt wireless charging mechanism inside the case. Additionally, this phone can reverse charge as well with 10 Watt output. However, the wired charger can charge this phone at 55 Watt.

Rear Camera Setup

The Xiaomi Mi11 featured a triple camera setup in the rear or back side (sometimes termed as the main camera as well).

  • 108MP wide-angle camera: This camera featuring a 1/1.33” large image sensor with OIS support, enabling blockbuster level ultra-clear image quality. This specification of this lens is f/1.85, 7P lens – OIS, AF 0.8μm pixel size, 1.6μm 4-in-1 Super Pixel.

  • 13MP ultra-wide-angle camera: This is featuring a 123° ultra-wide-angle view. This lens having an aperture of f/2.4.

  • 5MP telephoto macro camera: Macro lens for an excellent portrait to make the photo more creative. This is featured a 50mm equivalent focal length.

This is featured a Dual-LED dual-tone flash on the back as well. And a single piece of camera glass covered all

Front Camera Setup

The Xiaomi Mi11 featured a 20MP front camera with wide angle suitable for a group photos along with selfies. This is an in display selfie camera and having 0.8μm pixel size, 1.6μm 4-in-1 Super Pixel f/2.4 aperture.

Speaker Setup

The Xiaomi Mi11 featured a speaker developed by Harman / Kardon, a big brand in the speaker industry. I remember last time they developed some speaker for HTC phones which was fabulous. Finally, users are going to get a very high-quality sound from the phone.

Fingerprint sensor Setup

The Xiaomi Mi11 featured an in-screen fingerprint sensor. According to the users it is very quick and reliable. The coolest feature added in this fingerprint sensor is, this supports the hear rate monitoring as well.

Liquid Cool Setup

The Key spec-sheet details of Xiaomi Mi11 include up to 840 MHz Adreno 660 GPU, sixth-generation AI engine (AIE), 8 or 12 GB LPDDR5 RAM, 128 or 256 GB UFS 3.1 flash storage, a 120 Hz 6.81-inch AMOLED display. This means, a huge heat energy will be generated from the processor and other units. A good cooling technology is must required to keep components and on the upper hand the phone in the normal temperature to get the best performance. Xiaomi Mi11 introduced a Liquid Cooling technology inside the phone to keep the phone in normal temperature and get the best from the processor.

Battery Setup

The Xiaomi Mi11 featured a 4600mAh typical battery which is non removable. Although there is 6.81" display having 120Hz refresh rate, 5G modem are inside (need more power to run), Xiaomi made the hardware so cool and on top the smart user interface (MIUI-12.5) reduce the power consumption and adjust based on the uses. This Mi11 model able to achieve around 9 hours of display On with moderate-to-heavy usage. This means the battery last for a full day without any issues.
